If the wind is low, you can put in at Engelhard and stay close to shore in that area of the sound DEPENDING ON WIND.

That said, you better be married to the forecast and know exactly how wind direction affects the conditions. Know the capabilities of your boat and crew, go out the day before and take a look. If it's up or you're not comfortable, call it...it aint worth it.
