Finally got out for my first trip of the year. Pulled a double on geese with my very young dogs. The brown dog went after the dead goose in the water while the black dog went after the dead one on the ground. Brown dog latched on and that goose although dead gave up a couple hard wing slaps and the brown dog came back with a whimper! He is not quite a year old so my hope weren't high. I had to wade in without waders up to my belly button but I did recover the bird. Young dogs have alot to learn but you would think I'd have it sort of figured out by now-ruined the cell phone in my pocket and just finished buying its replacement. . .

The collared hen had a collared mate-which I didn't know previously, and this morning I found them with their babies-I think you can see one just behind the hen on the bottom.
