Sorry guys I just settled down from the start of the Veterans Day weekend hunts. The west side group got 51 ducks today a good start to the weekend.

If anyone is curious, we found no ducks in Skagit. We drove 4 hrs to the east side, hunted potholes and drove back for the photo.... I wouldn't want to confuse anyone about the presence of ducks in Skagit county, as there are none. There was one merganser though. :lol3:
A big thanks to Terell and the guys from Banded hunts for doing this. I had a blast and it was great to meet some guys from the forum. Hope to get out and hunt with y'all again. Good luck to those on the east side honker hunt. I've got some more photos that I'll get up in a bit!

Ben thanks for having us over at north flight. You always do a great favor for us by having us. I'm sorry I had to leave early and take the dog. I hope you guys didn't have to chase any birds down.

Hope you enjoy the goodies I brought over for you.

All my fellow Vet's, had a great time hunting with you all. I'm hating the fact that I'll be leaving in the spring.

Ok so wings asks me early this week if I like cigars. And I told him yes. He brings over a humidor which was totally awesome. But no cigars. ***. Haha. Hey your dog missed out on bringing you back some jewelry.

It was a good time overall. My phone died so someone else will have to post picks.

Ben, I apologize for no cigars. I was very swamped this week and was never able to get out to get anything that would have been worth smoking.

I'm sorry I missed the jewelry show but it was nice having plenty of oppurtunities to work the dog. She slept well on the ride home.

And JHaze, I'd love to get a video of that long retrieve.

Ben (North Flight Waterfowl) thank you for donating all your hard work and awesome calling to give us a memorable veterans day hunt. Wings - your dog was impressive as always.... Terrell - thanks for setting these hunts up. It was nice to meet and share stories with other Vets (both military and hunting).

2012 Veteran's day hunt

Postby terrellwa » Mon Nov 12, 2012 10:36 am

Wow it was a great veterans weekend. 51 ducks on Saturday and 31 geese and 1 duck on Sunday. Thanks so much to Banded Hunts for sponsoring the west side hunt and to North Flight Waterfowl for sponsoring the east side hunt. This is always one of my favorite weekends and hunts and enjoy spending time in the blind with all the veterans.

These are 2 great guides and I encourage if you are looking for a hunt to give them a call

Great Saturday hunt. Thanks Terrell and Banded Hunts for a fun time. It was good meeting some other guys off of DHC and nice to see what the BH guys have been doing in their spare time. ;-)

After spending a day with Cougar and Jhaze, I've decided to never hunt again....

PS. Up until 2am plucking that goose. Anyone else get stuck on the pass in that blizzard?

Ben - Thank you so much for the hunt yesterday! I look forward to coming out again, even if it isn't this year!

Wings - Awesome seeing your dog handle that long retreive. That's the longest retreive I've ever witnessed.
Aaron - Great meeting you. I don't mind the GMT threads. Let the haters fill your PM inbox with hate mail. They just can't hack it in a make believe world.
JHaze - Keep in touch man. You got the number.
USCG - You really didn't say much, but when you did it was great. LoL. Great hunting with you.
Orangefeet - Great hunting with you and your dad. I'm glad you both had a great time! I'll get that picture to your email inbox here in a few.
Terrell - Thanks for setting this up man. It was awesome! If you and JHaze are planning another trip back over there, let me know and I'll see if I can get in on it.
rvalle - Awesome ride through the snow huh? LoL. Great shooting next to you yesterday. We'll have to see if we can get together again this season.

That's not what you were saying yesterday with that 10ga. LoL. You were just missing the goat.
