Kemmerer

Postby BGipson » Sun Oct 26, 2014 3:39 am

I just moved here from Idaho a couple months ago and am looking for guys who are serious about chasin birds. Season's been good to me so far, but I've had mostly solo hunts since my normal hunting partner (my cousin) is on an opposite work schedule from me. I've got deeks, a dog and can call ducks and geese so no worries about me pullin my weight.
Every day I try to be the person my dog thinks I am. If I have accomplished this when my time comes, I feel I will have had a pretty good life.

Do you see many birds in Wyoming?

I've got a fair number of mallards and wigeon in my area right now but they are pretty stale. Calling has been ineffective for the most part and they are sticking to the middle of lakes and isolated, private stretches of river. I'm really looking forward to this cold weather coming in and hopefully pushing in some fresh birds from Canada and Montana

Had a decent hunt on the river this morning even though it was beyond freezing out. Couple mallards and a wigeon. Not many ducks flying but the geese were definitely migrating hard. Lakes are starting to freeze up so hopefully the birds push off and start using the river more.

Had another good hunt with a buddy. We wound up with 11 mallards and a greenwing but here's my part.

Nice, that's pretty good for December. The greenhead second from the end, on the right, looks like a brute. :hammer:

Yeah I'm hoping they hang around that field a while longer so I can get a few more shoots out of them. Right now we have a lull on my water spot so that's the only concentration of birds I know of...
