Plainfield - Hendricks County - just West of Indianapolis.

It's a pleasure to finally join a community of duck hunters online.

I grew up hunting ducks in Oklahoma. I moved to Indiana 6 years ago and it's been a slow process for me to get back into duck hunting up here.

Yeah, that's part of that "slow process" - duck hunting up here just ain't the same as what it was back in Oklahoma. It seems like by the time December comes around, most of them have already flown South. I could be wrong. But when I travel back to Tulsa for Christmas, there's plenty of mallards just hanging about every where down there and not one to be seen up here.

Everybody I know here in Indiana just hunts deer. Which, I've started to get into also.

Marion County, Just West of Speedway, IN. Moved here in June from Northwest Arkansas and before that Chicagoland. Last season was my first time out and though I spent most of it by myself I really had a great time. Already scheming and scouting for this season, even if I don't bag anything (which other than 3 coots is what I did last year) I am looking forward to getting out there!

Scouting is key. All depends on backwater, weather, etc.

St. Joe county. @ Revelation Travis, I kill most of my ducks in the late December season right on the Indiana/Michigan st. line, so they're still around, just concentrated in small areas.

Jefferson county. Chase the local geese every now and then. Born and raised in Mn. Also lived in IA and NE. I was spoiled early on
As far as amount of birds. Can't seem to find any decent amount of ducks around here and very few that hunt them. I mostly travel back to IA to hunt with family.

Thanks, I doing ok for now, trying to get in as much hunting as I can before my surgery, but who knows when that will be, could be tomorrow, could be 6 months from now. I just wish it was all over, crap is getting old
