Hunting public non-dnr land

I am having trouble figuring out the rules in Indiana on hunting on public land that is not done controlled. Does anyone have something they can point to for more clarification. I have tried Google and the search on here. Maybe just not able to put it into the right words.

what sort of land is it that is public but not dnr owned? You talking state forest areas, national forest, national wildlife refuge or what? You don't need to site specific names I just ask to try and help you as each one could have different regs. Many federal wildlife refuge areas do allow hunting, but not always waterfowl hunting. Most state forest and national forest land allow hunting, but may have restrictions as well.
