Waterfowl canning in the field...

My son is going to Canada for a long waterfowl trip. They usually take a freezer but never have enough space. I thot it would be great if could can some of those ducks/geese and save the freezer space. But he informs me that Federal law requires a wing tip be kept in tact to the animal for inspection???thus making canning out of the question,

Does anyone know of a solution to this? I know he could throw them in the canner as soon as he gets home but that doesn't quite serve the solution. Thanks to everyone for the help!
