Skin is thin like all teal, yours shouldn't have many/if any pinfeathers. After that just like mounting a duck. I've done 5 of them and quite a few BW and GW. From a technique stand point not difference. Looks like a dandy for sure.

thanks for the reply fowlweather. i shoulda made myself more clear, i'm sending him out to get stuffed and was looking to see how they decided to go, standing or flying. his wing got busted up so i might not have a choice.

I have one in a dead mount. Have done one standing, one standing wing open and really like a flying diving in pose for teal. Diving on not my work and standing one was a first year just ok bird.ImageImageImageImageImage

That's what I was talking about. Those are sharp. To be honest I'd be happy with any one of em, but Im kinda liking that flying mount. All depends on how tore up that wing is.

And that dead mount is absolutely tits. One of the best I've seen.
Thanks for sharing.

Yep. Best to give the guy doing it options and let him do whats best to work around damage.

Pretty bird sprigs. Here's a dead mount I did representing the Pacific Flyway limit. These birds had tremendous damage, as well as slipping issues to contend with, hence the reason for a dead strap.

That's a pretty cool mount, Pete. One of these years I'm gonna have a dead mount done. Thanks for sharing.

I just picked up these two from my guy. I shot the one on the right and my wife shot the other one on the same day. Fun to get them at the same time especially because the one was banded!

How'd those waders workout for you?

The waders worked perfect! Thanks again so much for your generosity, we need more guys like you around. My son got out a few times in them and kept saying “these are so comfortable dad!” You made his year much brighter!

It's all about the kids, Quack, and congrats on the banded cinnamon.
