I almost went out for teal this morning. But there’s so many gators around Havelock that I wasn’t taking the chance with my dog, and having him is half the fun. I went bow hunting instead and regretted it.

I have seen teal once in the Emerald Isle marshes on my way out to fish. I have not heard any shooting or heard of anyone hunting.
Too hot to hunt!

Also: I spent some time in Tulsa recently. I spoke to some experienced duck people who said there is wide consensus there that the changing weather (I.e., warmer) has altered the migration pattern of the Flyway. And not in a good way.
