If you can buy wholesale and not pay Hazmat fees. Also buy specials. I paid $68 for 5000 plrimers twice. I'm originally from Iowa and go back two times a year and pick up my Primers at Crows Supply in Brooklyn, Ia. I will be getting powder there also this summer. I buy STEEL in the 4 lb containers but heard that Alliant is now only furnishing 1 lb containers. I shoot mostly 7/8 oz and 1 oz loads for geese, ducks, pheasants and doves. They run over 1700 fps in my 035. Your home loads will generally perform better than factory loads. My 7/8 oz loads are costing me $4.47 abox. However prices have jumped. Good luck, Ned S

I can buy wholesale at Gene Sears thru my friends FFL. I generally go thru there about six times a year. Next time thru I'm buying powder and shot. Not much discount on shot. I was paying $46 for 4 lbs the last time I bought. Ned S
