Uhh having groups of 15-20 snows dropping the landing gear is a great time!

And what a mind F it is watching 2k plus tornado and try to stay focused on one or two birds.

Won't complain about mallards over a dry field either.

I will always have a special place in my life for mallards and geese over wild rice.

But a guy could get used to these fields.

Minus my back. Cripes I'm a healthy active guy and after 6 days in a layout I'm still recovering!

Way to wear 'em out fellas!

It's amazing watching it all happen in front of you, Isn't it? Everything you've ever heard of... or watched on the tv...

I've been doing a ND trip for quite some time. Some years are only "ok"... but it's the trips like razors write up that make you go back year after year.

And you know what..?

It makes the lean years that much better... because you've seen it...

When a fella says "you shoulda' been here yesterday." You can say to yourself. "I've been there yesterday..."

And to the young guys referenced.

Literally every time you walked into their room.

"Hey buddy want a beer". "I'd take a beer buddy". Straight Riley and Jonsey.

Also damn I was the old guy. The college kids about pooped a brick when I said I had a 15 year old. Who knew 37 was so old!

Last day of UP season and it went out with a bang, not a lights out hunt be we had awesome conditions, heavy snow, 30mph wind, birds working... awesomeness

It wasn't without adventure either lol... about 3 miles from the launch my buddy blew a cylinder in his motor so we had to limp back with a 50lb trolling motor in 30mph winds, and I tripped and went under, thanks goodness for sitka/ gortex I was pretty dang dry and warm considering
