We have been hitting the geese pretty good so far this season with two bands this week. We received the info on one of birds shot yesterday. The bird had been banded in Leeds NY in 2009, identified as too young to fly. The bird was banded approx 170 miles southwest of where it was harvested in Southern NH. I thought that it was interesting so I figured I would share the info.

The second bird was banded locally in 2010 while too young to fly

Would you guys like a sticky (above) for band reports so we can all keep track of where birds are migrating to/from etc???

Two banded geese shot in Central MA this week. One banded locally two years ago, the other banded in Arroostoc County ME this summer. Both birds decoyed in the same small group.

One GWT banded in N. Carolina, shot on the Seacoast in 2009.

One locally banded black duck shot last year.

One Ring billed gull found this year under my truck tire banded at the Isle of Shoals. :lol3:

Thats good for you sucks for me. I was part of that banding party and was hoping they were still around me. We banded 102 geese that day. I wanted to have one of those bands hanging on my laynard. We shot one of the birds in early September. A group of 4 of us shot. Not sure who hit that bird because 4 guys shooting at 2 lone geese coming in makes it hard. We drew straws and I lost. O well hopefully some make it back up here for next year. Congrats on the band though...

saw Leeds on the map, wasn't too far from where I was deer hunting this past weekend. Let me tell you about geese out there! If I said I saw 8-10,000 a day out there I'd be lying cause it was probably double that! Too bad the season for them wasn't open till this weekend :crying:

Shot a banded drake mallard this week... was hoping for an interesting story from the band program. Nope. Bird was tagged in September of this year only 10 miles south of where it was shot. Goes to show the local birds are still hanging around, I guess.

Drake Mallard banded Set 1, 2013 in Newfields. Shot on the seacoast.
Shot a hen mallard yesterday, banded in Newfields 9/13
Banded by Mr Robinson? I got two banded in September in Newfields.

I just realized I forgot to add my third one to this thread.
I ended up shooting three banded drakes in a row this year, the previous two were banded in newfields, this last one was banded on 08/20/2012 in NOTRE-DAME-DE-PIERREVILLE, QUEBEC, CANADA.
