Metal prices took a big jump in the last year + good old inflation of 3 to 4% on labor, and the fuel prices increases too in the past year all mean one thing--prices went up.

Maybe call around to see if somebody has a 2004 model around yet and get it for the 2004 price.

China is buying metal at a furious pace to build its expanding economy.
Same thing happens to plywood when storms smash Fla and the US gov trys to rebuild Iraq.Global economics is such fun!

Because of my day job working for a construction equipment manufacturer and because of my side business as boat dealer, I can tell you that aluminum prices have really skyrocketed. These boat manufacturers are not trying to cut a fat hog...they are just trying to make a reasonable profit and keep their doors open. And they are well aware that as prices rise they shut out some buyers.

I hope the price of aluminum comes back down.
