As far as i know the major difference is in recoil reduction. This helps with getting back on target after the first shot.

I have done a little bit of reading on them and there supposed to be great guns. Im looking into picking one up for next season myself. this season i hunted with my over/under and the way i shoot i think a third pull would help

Let us know what you think after you take that thing for a test ride.

Hey Wackem, I got two friends that have Novas. I know one of the guys might sell his soon. Would you be interested? They are both slightly used. Both of these guys are what I call "Opening Weekend Duck Hunters" so the guns are fairly low mileage.

Ok, I'll find out the info, and I'll relay back to you. Just FYI both the guys I know that have those guns hate them. Too much throw on the slide action, delicate, ect. But I don't want to dissuade you.

I have 3 of the first generation Novas. (Got lucky one night at a DU Dinner, and I won 2 different raffles). I hunt with one and it kicks like a mule w/ 3 1/2 inch. It kills ducks dead though. Easy to point, easy to cycle. I love mine.
