I recently purchased my first semi shotgun and it was the Beretta a00 Ultima in 12 gauge. When I first grabbed the gun it was everything I wanted and had a lot of features I was interested in. After further shooting and looking I have determined the the comb height on the gun is just too high. It measures around 1 3/8" to the front side and then 2 1/4" on the heel. I pulled it apart and it has the most drop allowed from factory with the shims. I recently shot my fathers cz1012 that has a 1 5/8" drop at the front and it fit me much better and it showed on the clays. With further investigation the A400 model has more drop the would fit right into my wheelhouse. My question is will the A400 stocks fit on the A300 Ultima? I would normally just buy one and try but it would be an expensive endeavor.

The shooting sports have never been inexpensive to participate in, not competitively anyway.
If the A300 doesn't fit you and the A400 does, then it's a no-brainer.

You don't have to buy an A400 to see if it fits you better.........

I bought an A300 Ultima at the beginning of the season last year. I started hunting with it and couldn’t solidly hit anything. After a few hunts I left it home and was back in business with my 870.
In the spring I took it to shoot clays and couldn’t hit a thing.
I ended up selling the Ultima and bought a CZ1012 and absolutely loving it! It hits where I point. The nice thing about the 1012 is not only the 5 choke tubes it comes with but it also comes with plenty of shims if you need to make adjustments.
Good luck!

Does the new berrtas shims not adjust like the older berrta's?

The shims in my 390 can change the drop at heel by flipping the shim. Goes from 65 to 50 or 55 mm if I remember correctly.
