my best hunts have been over a field of feed corn that was already harvested with alot still on the ground. around yuma they love milo maize (? spell) they are always FULL of the stuff.
corn, wheat, sunflower, etc. any of these do really well. milo and millet are also good.
Telephone lines. Barn silos. Gravel roads. I don't know how to plant those things. But that is how get'em.
in my area" west central IL" hands down sunflowers. a large sileage field comes a close second. but doves per acre seem to be much higher in the flowers
we get doves in droves when the Thistle seeds out...though i can't imagine WHY anyone would intentionally plant thistle.

when i lived in arizona we would get them in just about any grain field with good success.
Sunflowers down here, especially for all 3 seasons (Sept, Oct, Dec).
Sunflowers and millet.
we dont have much for sun flower fields here so where the best place to get em is by stock ponds.
Milo- Sunflowers_ Wheat- or anything that gets me on the tractor for a few hours and away from the computer!!! Have you ever hunted over Dove Food Plots? The experience is quite impressive!! Food plots just take trail and error for the area you are in. BE carefule with your State's and the FED anti-baiting laws.... Cause Federal and State Game wardens can make a good time go bad quick! We walk our fields with the gamewarden prior to huning them with clients.. Mis interpretaions or mistakes can and do happen, if the plot is secret you might have an issue. ...
