Kind of a beat to death topic but what is the best MOBILE blind? I want something that is easy to pack in and out of a hunting spot and provides the most comfort of a full blind.

Ive narrowed it down to 3 that I know of.

#1 GHG Groundforce(year model still undecided)
Alot of buzz on here got me looking at the groundforce. The guy at Sportsmans Warehouse told me the backpack straps are kind of flimsy and he has torn his out a little. I like the quick snap together poles. I wish they had some in Max4 but MODB is good too. Also I dont know if the 2007/2008 is worth getting over a 2006.

#2 FA S.U.B. (I have a new one I got yesterday for $100 in Max4)
I set this blind up in my garage and it seems sturdy and light. I dont like that it doesnt have a backpack carry system and it only folds roughly 1/3 its size. The pins are also ok but Ive found them to be kind of tough.

#3 FA X'Land'R (I passed one up for $150 the other day  )
Like the idiot I am I passed up a X'land'r at Sportsmans in MODB for $150 and instead got a Eliminator Proguide Xl not understanding that it was a fixed blind. I was able to lay in one at the store and it felt good although the doors are sort of flimsy. The backpack straps seem well made compared to the groundforce.

I've never hunted out of an x'lander. A friend owns one and complains constantly about the angle of the backrest. Everyone has their prefernces though. I don't recomment the S.U.B. Even 'folded' it is enormous. My father has one, and he can attest to what a pain in the as* is it to haul around. It doesn't really 'backpack' at all. I have a few ground forces. They're basically the only layouts I own now. I've tried a lot of different ones, and sold most. I have three of the '06 model and love them. Maybe they changed something in the '07/'08s, but the backpack straps on the '06 are stout. I've drug one for about 50 miles behind the truck by one of the straps and it didn't even bust one stitch. I'm at a loss as to that the sportsman's guides guy's complaint. The Ground Force is a little slimmer than the S.U.B (which I like), but it you are a heavy guy it might not be ideal. Other than that, it is the most portable layout I've ever found. And for me, and the places I hunt, that is what it's all about. If most of my friends hadn't spent a couple hundred bucks on theirs, they would have bought one by now. I get glare after glare as I comfortably walk out with my blind on my back and a bag of decoys as they stumble and struggle with their 'folded' layouts and a handfull of dekes.

thanks for the reply. that about sums up what I wanted to know and it seems to be the same thing I keep hearing. I bought the SUB for $100 and your right its more of a side sling duffle bag type setup. I figure I can resell it as its brand new plus I got 10 goose decoys with it for another $50.

So looks like Im going to order the 06 groundforce in MODB

I got a Cabelas mobile one layout blind and i am very happy with it. it is easy to set up and take down. it is very comfortable and low profile. it also it fairly cheaper then most of the blind on the market. as far as the SUB goes. I have a friend that has one and personally i think it is junk. The gun rest that you have to attack is hard to get on (From my friends experience). It has a big zipper which may tear or something like that. also it does not clip together securely, it has these bungee cords that just hook on the strap. If i were to buy another it would defiantly be another Cabelas mobile one. Heres a link if you are interested.

Well I got the Groundforce in the mail today. This is hands down THE blind as far as Im concerned. I knew right away when the box was half the size of the Xlandr and it folds up one more time than the SUB.

I flopped it on the floor and didnt even try and it set itself up. I havent taken it back down but it seems damn easy. The only gripe is that the bar goes under my ass. Im very happy with it though overall and it matches my new MODB SX3 perfect

I've yet to find one that is totally ideal in terms of padding and placement of any bars. We probably have 8/10 different brands and styles of layouts in our group and every one of them has an extra pad in them now. I use a little soft frame fold up statium chair/pad. Works great and folds right up with the blind. Other guys have made their own.

I have a S.U.B. and i like it, but like mentioned it doesnt fold up to good, and no backpack strap. I am looking to fix that by sewing straps on the bottom. What is a good blind that has a good backpack system, so i can get some ideas?

Thanks

I had a SUB, but took it back after the straps broke (back support in the blind). I did like the blind, however I decided to try the X-Lander. I really like this blind due to the low profile and back pack system. You are correct, the doors are a little "flimsy", due to design, since they don't have the bars connected to the frame. I actually like this feature.

I was so pleased with the X-lander that I got a second blind as a back up/spare for hunters with out a blind.

Check out Rogers sporting goods, as they have some great deals going on the X-Lander and all of the other blinds you are looking for.

Edit: I forgot to mention that I am 6'3" and 220lbs, and there is plenty of room for me.

I own FA Xlandr and Eliminator Express. I have hunted out of Top Gun, Finishers and GroundForces. I Really prefer the Xlandr if I am packing it a ways. It is comfortable and plenty big enough. I can fill it with decoys shells blindbag and shotgun then carry a bag of decoys in the front.

Xlandr is my vote.

I was all set to buy a FA SUB, then some guys told me about the new Avery Migrator M-2 coming out later this year -- now I'm stuck. Should I wait or go ahead with the SUB ? I'm a big guy and need some room in my layout.
