Lighten up, I'm sure that the post was a joke. Because after all everybody knows that people from the west coast are liberal-tree hugging- DIRTY hippies! :laughing: Come on I'm just kidding, don't cry. For the most part we are all playing on the same team, with the possible exceptions of snafu and stouff. :toofunny: Nothing like a little ribbing to get things exciting. :salude:

Green, it was a joke. I will not speak for Hunting wife...she can do that all by herself, and I am sure she will.

But, dude you need to relax. There is no reason to get all offended about nothing. I'm not sure your choice words will be taken very well. Your approach was less than tactful, and it was down a down right personal attack about a general statement made in jest. We poke fun at each other all the time in here, that is how it goes.

You say you do all this stuff about how you help wildlife, I am sure you do. But after your claims of the "ignorant statement," you go and make one of your own. You have no idea what she, her husband or the rest of us for that matter do to help hunting habitat. You feel slighted about the stereotypes made of the West coast, and at the same time you use the term "swamp rat hillbillies." So I am kind of scratching my head on this one. Even before that, you mention "movie ads" "comics" and "yard sales." So, with this, should I infer that is your idea of east coasters? So, I am not sure how that makes you any better than anybody else in here. Me...I don't care where anybody is from, and if they are a hillbilly swamp rat that likes to joke around, I'm hanging with them. If that makes me one to, so be it.

Thanks Snafu (see, I spell your name right). You pretty much said it all for me. I just never realized that people from out West were also lacking in a well-formed sense of humor... although that would explain a lot of the sitcoms coming out of Hollywood right now!

Just remember, you actually don't know anything about me, which makes me a stranger. And I am sure you wouldn't walk down the street picking fights and making insulting personal comments to strangers (I don't know, maybe you do). But we're all pretty friendly around here, and even the heated discussions tend to be much more polite than you were just now. Take a breath, because I am sure all that fussing's not good for your blood pressure.

Just relax Green, it's all in good fun (unless you're not fun of course...) :mrgreen:

Getting back to the actual topic at hand...

Stouff, as a wife and a woman (both at once, who'd have thought?) I have to strongly disagree with your comment. If anything, having a DHC get-together in the Bahamas would make your wives MORE amenable to the idea. After all, you could bring them with you! Think about the spin you could put on it: "Honey [insert something good she's done here or some other flattering comment]. I think we should go on vacation to the Bahamas for a few days, you know, just get away and relax." And then once you're there you can let her go off with the other wives shopping or to the spa or pool or whatnot, and you can live it up with all the DHC folk. Everybody wins! I am telling you, this idea will go over way better than proposing that you make a little getaway to somewhere like Missouri (no offense, Missouri folks, it's just not as appealing).

I'm thinking Bahamas would be a good spring break for me, or we could just go for a giant hunt in Argentina ? .? Maybe if we make this big enough we can get the feds to grant us all permission for a one day hunt somewhere during the middle of the summer since we all have that itch right about then. Any takers?

I just re-read my post And it does sound mean and insulting the second time around And I think she was more or less refeering to the pepole from so cal than the west The comments I made about reading the paper and understanding politics were more of Generalizing women as a group And in general not all but most women dont care about the things I mentioned about bussiness and politics and do only read the paper for the things I said Mabey she doesnt just look at those things she is right I dont know her And should not have been so mean And as far as the swamp rat hillbilly comment that comes from her own backyard My buddy In TN says that to my other buddy from GA all the time For the actual personal insults I am sorry For the stereo type insults she used them first trying to be funny so were mine Sometimes when you type things and pepole cant here you voice fluxuate and the little giggles it sounds alot different

I voted Not Minnesota. I'm up for anything. Although, if we are getting just plain silly about picking the Bahammas, then why the hell don't we pick some place like Argentina, so we can shoot us some DUCKS!!! Hell, I can drink, make fun of and get made fun of anywhere. We might as well get to shoot the subject of this site while were at it.

For someone who got so bowed up about global generalizations, you sure do know how to paint half the world population with a broad brush (and quite incorrect in this specific instance). Next time, rag on cat owners or something... wait, I'm one of those too, so nevermind.

Seriously, I appreciate you being big enough to apologize. You're right, it's hard to put inflection in an online post, and maybe you did mean for your comments to be taken as lightly as I did mine. In the future, that's what the smileys are for... use them!

...And the sun rose above the clouds, rainbows and butterflys filled the sky. Birds were singing a lovely tune, the sweet smell of the passing storm was in the air, and the doves of peace...flew right into our range and we blasted the ever loving crap outta them...

I think the Bahamas was a great idea, (look...it gonna happen though)
The fishing is good (ooh I gotta post that pic). The people are nice...but the beer ain't cheap. And I never saw one duck when I was there...
So, at my own fault...we would better off keeping this in the USA.

I ain't going to Missouri. Too many bad experiences (getting our govt. 4 wheelers stolen for starters. I like the Dakotas idea. Personally.
