Hi guys. I'm sure this topic has been talked about. I am only asking because I'm sure new shotgun models come out being both inexpensive and expensive. I want to start duck hunting this year and looking for a good starter shotgun. I can't afford one above a grand only because I have many other hobbies. But any suggestions will be appreciative. Also, any tips for equipment to start with. Thank in advance.

Next week I'll be getting a Winchester SX3 with a 26" barrel, in Max 4 camo finish.
Her Highness gave special dispensation for the purchase, so it will join an;
870 express, my 1962 870 Wingmaster (now only decorative antiques) my Ithaca Mag Ten auto, her Tri Star 20 ga Raptor Auto in Muddy Girl pink camo, (Actually just the sweetest little shooter), and my Beretta A400 Xtreme in the gun safe 'til season starts.
I am looking forward to running a couple of boxes of low base shells thru it for break-in, but it will be primarily a back up, or loaner for Son/Son-in-law when they are joining me in the blind.
There are fringe elements who still cling to the pump, O/U, and SxS, but I suspect the double boys do so for the nostalgia, and the Pump promoters spring from those elements of society raised in extreme poverty, or those suffering some form of Hereditary taint, and last perhaps, those victims of unsavory types looking to lay off a misguided purchase themselves.
Buy a good mid range gas operated Auto. You won't be sorry!
