I took twenty minutes this morning and with a set of binocs watched the feeders out back......as a sure sign of spring I saw:

five RW blackbirds
a half dozen robins (actually they were at the crab apple bush knocking down the berries)
three blue jays
a purple finch
at least a dozen gold finches
a downey woodpecker
a group of mourning doves
a few english sparrows and of course a bunch of chickadees

in addition....the chipmunks were rampant running across the snow

got out for crows yesterday in NH......got a few shots......blinding snow for most of the morning and missed a few opportunities (seems they can be just as sneaky as ducks!)....saw a bunch of Canadas though, a flock of seven woodies and a few mallards flying around.....then there were four turkeys in the manure pile......glad to get out in the field and get some shooting....but I need spring weather BAD!
