Birds are starting to show back up in my area after it looking like the Sahara for the past couple of weeks. This warm spell has just about got all my ponds thawed back out.Looks like I'm gonna try to put the smack on them Friday.

I think it might be the opposite for me. I hunt big water and the freeze forced the birds out of the marshes. Now it seems they're waaaaay back in there again.

The thaw is putting the squeeze on my success too. 30 birds on Fri when the river looked like the north pole. 18 on Saturday with a little bit of thawing but plenty of ice remained on the river. Monday the river was void of ducks. Hunted hard to scratch out dozen birds.

We got swans back on the farm, they shot 2 yesterday, some snows coming down and shot, and some canadas finally coming down from the stratosphere. Maybe theres hope afterall.

I know our folks out on the Eastern Shore were swabbing LOTS of divers last week. It has dropped off quite a bit this week. Hopefully, it will pick back up between now and the end of the season! :thumbsup:

Ran into your guy (state) at the ramp on Sat. Down on the Eastern shore..

Said he was swabbin PLENTY of dippers!
