Has anyone started using ammo cans or pelican cases to replace their blind bags? Looking to get rid of my soft blind bags and really like the idea of using a pelican hard box for keeping my stuff in and it will float/keep it dry. I like the idea i can beat the heck out of it and keep my stuff safe. I would not use this to walk in any distance because I'm mostly using a boat. If you have something like this drop a picture below of how you organize it and what size you like!

Have had a hunter ask his buddy if he'd noticed that guides don't use blind bags. Don't know how universal that might really be, but know this guide have found plastic boxes much more utilitarian. Too lazy to go to the shed to see who built it, but my big one looks like this:
Bumper Automotive exterior Gas Tool Box

Bag Gas Audio equipment Auto part Office supplies

(Note how cleverly I included toes for size reference.)

Also have a smaller one I use on hunts where there's not as much chance of wanting things the big one accommodates. And if circumstance requires freeing up a hand, I'll use a backpack - albeit often with the small box holding most, if not all, of the goods in it and to serve as seat.

I prefer a soft blind bag because I occasionally use it as a pillow when I'm laying out.
They are also well-camo'd, and you know how I love camo.
Back when I was running big white spreads we laid out in, I'd bring OD foam Army sleeping pads for everyone to roll out just far enough to keep their butts off the ground and leave the remainder rolled for a pillow.

But even in my 70s, I find it simpler and easier to hide and shoot sitting astraddle a small shell box with the aid of camo cape with hanks of native vegitation clipped on for cover. The drill being to simply bow low over the gun in my lap while working game. Makes me a very small benign-looking blip on even the barest of landscapes. 'Course, it's not a trick for the, shall we say, "husky" fellows.

My 'go to' for decades has been a 7 gallon bucket with a carry handle and a padded, swivel lid. (Rattle-can camo'ed for that 'custom' touch.) I can stuff a few teal decoys--or a limit of real teal-- inside. A pair of binocs and a box of shells. Lanyard and calls, a cold/warm drink. Whatever. Same as Rick... I sit on it and it keeps my schtuff dry too.

I bought and ran the Divebomb blind bag this year and its the only blind bag ive used that I love and is actually waterproof. I like the design and being waterproof more than anything. as my bags always used to seep through layout boat hunting. I dump in my snacks, water bottle, ammo, gloves, calls, etc and roll it up and clip it and go. no more stupid zippers and velcro.
