Hello Folks!

New guy here. Looking for a Browning Expert to answer my question:

I have a Japan made Browning Auto 5, Mag 12, Stalker model. According to Brownings "Date your gun" web page, the "NP" denotes a 1998 gun, however the code "111" in the full code "NP111" is not an option among the various codes. Why the unique code "111"? What does it mean? What is the unfired value of this gun?

Thank you
Steve

151=Magnum 12 gauge
161=Magnum 20 gauge
211=Light 12 gauge
221=Sweet 16
231=Light 20 gauge

address the gun and not the manufacture date.

I think it is 151, not 111 and it is only worth what you can get for it. I sold 6 new unfired Stalkers for $900 each, you'll do good to find a buyer right now willing to get close to that.

Delivered by a sleigh and 8 tiny reindeer

Thanks for the response. I suppose that I wasn't clear in my original post. I am familiar with the information that you provided. I will try to be more clear. My Auto 5 Stalker has the following information stamped on the bottom of the receiver, "NP111". It is NOT "NP151". The box has NP111 also. That puzzles me. I doubt it was a mistake, as both the receiver and the box have NP111. Any idea why the NP111, and what the "111" means?

I have never seen a Japanese Auto-5 with a code other than those I listed and I have had quite a few pass thru my hands.

I suggest you call Browning and ask them
