What is the best procedure for painting a duck boat. Dark colors first then light colors last , or is there a soecific procedure.

Different folks say different things. I'd paint the base a tan color and then hold your pattern (grass, reeds, etc) up to the boat and spray brown and green around it. It'll make the reeds and grass appear to be "in" the paint and not actually on top of the base coat.
