Clean the Bay Day is June 7, 2008 9 a.m. to Noon
Shoreline litter is one of the most visible and pervasive reminders that the Chesapeake Bay needs help.

Clean the Bay Day is a fun, hands-on way to be a part of the solution.

Get involved! Join thousands of others who gather every year to clean-up their local waterways and show the world that an unhealthy Bay is unacceptable!
Fully half of Virginia is drained by Chesapeake Bay rivers, and two-thirds of the state's population lives within the Bay watershed. From the farm fields of the Shenandoah Valley to the pinewoods of the Eastern Shore, for most Virginians the Bay is as close as the nearest creek or stream.
Spend the day on the bay , the weather is looking good for Sat. clean your 500 yards of hunting grounds then head out to your fishing hole and catch a meal for your hard work . Hope to see you on the water  !

4 bags of trash in 2000 yards of marsh ! the big new was the heat and flies, 101 and bloody green head flies sucks . I was by myself picking up drink bottles, oil bottles, cardboard crab bait boxes, walmart bags, shoes and balloons. I found a number of buoys that I will reuse . At the end of the day I caught 8 croakers that I used to bait my 3 pots .
This will be my last clean up I will do in June b/c birds are nesting and the snakes are out . VAWFA holds there clean up at the right time , March is the best time b/c it's cold , I think the CBF should change there day to March b/c there is no fishing going on so I would guess that more people would get out to clean up the bay .

 LD
