Ok guys,
I am new here and have enjoyed reading about the hunting dogs. I got a quick question for you guys.
Ever seen a cocker spaniel do the job? This was her 27 retrieve of the year and it was 22 degrees that morning.

Good deal. I can't say I've seen a cocker in the marsh. If she brings back your birds that all that counts. A bird in hand is better than eating white beans.

man the only thing I've ever seen a cocker do is bite and pee on the floor. I had a springer spaniel as a kid that would fetch ducks. SO Rock on man :biggrin:

Lets see some more pics of this dog. I like the Spaniels they have some drive to them, had a Cocker Spaniel that would retrieve until your arm gave out.

Even niftier, it would seem from the photo be an American cocker doing the job. Now that's a rarity for sure, nice work for any gundog!

The spaniels do indeed have the drive, most of 'em anyhow, including field-bred cockers and of course the brown curly ones. That's if they're able to escape from being lap dogs or yard dogs--or, even if they don't have to go very far, escape from the yard...
