So, looking at the dead ringer link, it has the shot rings and it says its a wad stripping choke. It goes on and shows the picture of the choke crimping the ends of the wad like most wad stripping chokes have been proven to do. Carlson's Cremator has the shot rings but in the product description it talks about constriction? Also talks about shorter shot strings which are associated with wad stripping chokes as well. Looking at the picture it says the LR is a .697 constriction. It also comes in CR,and MR. Does this mean its sort of a hybrid between wad stripping and a constriction choke? Or is my understanding of a wad stripping choke not correct. I was under the impression wad stripping chokes had zero constriction and only had a ring(or multiple rings) which in theory were supposed to hold the wad back, but was proven to just crimp the leading edge of the wad holding the shot in the wad longer.
I have a PM long range(I posted in a previous thread that it was a MR, I was mistaken) and I'm looking to get a constriction choke, as I have been having very poor luck with the PM out of my SBEII getting any kind of consistent patterns. The MR cremator was a possibility if I could find any good reviews or should I just go with the original extended, Mod or Light Mod from Carlson's. Does anyone have any input on the extended tubes through a SBEII. Mostly shoot 3" #2 for everything, and the occasional box of BB.
