What is the best knot to use when attaching decoy line to the weight and decoy line to the keel of the decoy??

Thanks

Hmmmm maybe pics of the bowline should be put up.

I use the double overhand knot. Basically it is good knot that does not cinch tightly to the keel, but rather allows as bit of a loop between the keel and the knot for more movement of the decoy. I run the line through the keel hole out about 6"-8 and double the 2 lines side by side, then form a script small e, meaning long hand writing e, and the then push the 2 ends through the opening of the e and then snug the knot tight. I use it for weights too. And with both Tangle Free and reg braided lines. With TF line, makes sure it is snug, otherwise the knot can open up. But with TF, you can undo the knot to change weights, or decoys with out cutting the line like traditional knots.

I dont think the crimps will work with the braided line. The holes are bigger and they look like they are made for the tangle free stuff. I have never tried them with the braided line so I can't give you a for sure yes or no on that. I have went to all tangle free stuff so I have not tried it with the braided line.

I buy some weights with holes in them. You slip it through back again through again and put it through the loop and pull. Sounds confusing but its not.

Well, I have no problem tying the bowline, but decided to just use a double overhand. The new line I've got looks to be quite a bit smaller than what I had before so I should have no problem with the overhand knots holding. Strung up about 1 1/2 dozen dekes this afternoon and all went well!

I use tangle free line and crimps, the crimps take the pressure off of the line that the knot will produce. If you tie the line directly to the weight the weight will possibly cut the line over time. I usually take a knife and trim around the hole on the weight to make it more smooth.
