Anyone on the west side mold your own slip weights for decoys? I was wondering if anyone did it or had any molded ones to texas rig some lines. If you know of a place to get some that is some good information as well. Thanks in advance

Hey, west side here. Anyway, I don't mold my own weights, I do however buy weights. I just go to the hardware store and buy large nuts and use standard decoy string. For the same price it costs me to rig 12 dekes with lead decoy weights I can now rig about 25 for the same price. Only difference is that when you are talking a whole bag of 35 dekes the weight can add up in a hurry.

Moral of the story: cheaper but heavier. But to each their own. I have never had a decoy get away.

I order my sinkers from here http://www.miabasinkers.com/egg_sinkers When you order ask for the 3/16th holes I had him start making them with the larger hole to allow them to slide on the tanglefree line. I rig all my dekes like Rig'em Right style makes for quick setup and recovery.

Thanks for all the feedback. I may look into ordering some. I was trying to get awayfrom shipping which in one case I can. I do not hunt moving water too much so shold be ok. I really like the slip egg style of weight
