Nice. You gonna go archery or shotgun? This weekend is my time to commit to killing a deer, got a nice spot and saw a guy with a good size 4X4 in the bed of his truck.

Gonna try and take one with a bow, have done it with a shotgun and I want to put an arrow through one now. Good luck with your deer this weekend.

I doubt it would do much, actually, I bet those long blades would keep it from really penetrating all that well. It would be like trying to run through a doorway with a broom handle held parallel to the ground.

a bow is a very tough proposition for turkeys...much less fall turkeys.
Tip: get in front of a feeding flock and stand behind a tree directly in front of where they are traveling. use the tree to hide drawing the bow back and ease around the tree to shoot one. shot for the ball joint where the wing bone attaches to the breast plate... this will prevent the bird from flying, and will peg both lungs or shoot a gobbler guillotine... :yes: :yes:

Yeah, but I want to give it a try. I have seen them cutting through the same funnel in the woods that leads into a meadow for the past two weekends so I am gonna set up my ground blind right off of it and see what happens.

out of the air :hammer: . he is an amazing archer. and he is from kinda near me! if you get a chance, check out the show. its on the Pursuit channel i think. he will kill anything with his bow.

I have seen his show, he is really amazing with that bow. I don't get Pursuit unfortunately, only Outdoor channel. I catch his show from time to time though, it is very entertaining.
