I don't love the bitter cold, but I'll take MT winters over somewhere with high temps and humidity any day. You can dress for the cold. You can only strip down so far when it's 90 degrees and 70% humidity.
MT is awesome country...but its cold 3/4 of the year? That seems like a lot of cabin time and snow shoe walking. Limited growing season. What would the tractor be for? 🤣

We can send the LA and CA boys out to feed cattle during those winter months just to toughen em up some.
"Montana" conjures memory of a long ago Life magazine cover photo of a Montana cow with frozen eyes. Lived on the not-so-toasty shore of Lake Erie then, but memory of that image was powerful enough that when I thought I'd be moving back North from LA, the target was North Dakota, rather than Montana. As if...

Coldest place I ever remember being was Grand Forks ND in either Jan-Feb. That place is not on my list for future retirement destinations. I'm leaning more toward Ennis MT.
