It’s only 35 acres. Surrounded by ag land controlled by one farming family that owns most of the county. For a long, long time that’s kept this place preserved.

You're very fortunate to live where you do and to have a buffer from the city. Any man who's ever had aspirations to be a woodsman or just to be away from the noise and annoyance of the city, dreams of living somewhere like you do. I hope you can keep things the way they currently sit.

Thanks. That farming family has owned around my place since the 1800’s. My people have been on this spot since the 50’s. My closest neighbors just as long. We aren’t used to change haha.

I watched that show ozark. Crazy stuff happening over there. How’s the fishing?
The show is fairly true to form of the Ozark culture. It is a bizarre mix of city people and hillbillies. There are massive multimillion dollar homes and single wide trailers. And everyone gets along quite well. In the summer, it is funville with all the water sports, but by the end of September, most city people stay in KC or STL and it is a different place. Very quiet and peaceful.

As for fishing, it all depends on what you are after. Bass fishing is The Sport at the lake, but dinner is served on crappie and catfish.

I've never done this thing called snagging, but it is quite the thing in the spring. Literally, people troll back and forth and try to randomly snag a paddlefish or spoonbill with a giant treble hook.

The guy with the paddlefish needs to upgrade his hat to a Stormy Kromer.

So I can assume that’s a picture of your house? Looks like you’ve got plenty of room for me to come visit.
No, not my house, but there are hundreds of similar stature. We sold a smaller house and built a bigger one to accommodate my three kids, their spousal units and the grand babies that are now popping out, so yes, we have room for you. And the first sign you see when you walk in is - Friends are always welcome. Relatives by appointment only.

What you learn quickly is that there are small business owners who have done quite well. People who own plumbing, electrical, landscaping, etc. And of course, professional athletes and wealthy families like the Busch family (beer) and Waltons (Walmart).
