I’ve gotten pretty involved and learned a great deal over the last couple weeks. I’ve talked with county and state leaders, local landowners, and economic development groups - both locally and state level.

I’m sad to say it appears to be all but inevitable. There’s plans in motion and a lot of money on the table.

Trying to figure out where I go from here. Weird to be considering moving on from a place that my dad grew up on, that I took over from my grandparents, and has been in the family since the 60’s.
That sucks, Bo. Is the plan to build all around your place and leave your place as is? If so, is there a big enough buffer between you and that mess that you can continue to live where you do without feeling like you're in the middle of a large industrial zone? Or are you expecting that you're going to be pressured to sell your place to the developers so it will become part of the forthcoming project?
I know the last thing you want to do is move from where you're at, but make damn sure you get an independent appraisal on your place vs letting the developers tell you its value.
Well as I mentioned it’s a bigger problem than I originally understood. There’s more than one development site. They’ll have a couple sides of me covered. The closest it’ll get is about a quarter mile. For now, I’m sure as time goes by it’ll keep expanding. There’s also plans to put in a few thousand acres of solar farms in the immediate area. They’ve got 1,000 acres built already.

There’s a few of us that have gotten together and we’ve gone a long, but viable shot we’re gonna take. I’ll give an update when something happens.

That suuuuuuucks. They can only compound the suck by adding windmills, so they have completely ruined the land for all living things for the express purpose of a taxpayer funded money suck that produces a very expensive and unreliable trickle of woke energy. :(

Hey now! The Chinese just used 'em to float a damned spy balloon thousands of miles over Joe's head and they seemed to work fine.

I’d rather solar farms than the battery plant that might be coming.

Hmmm. Tough choice. At least the battery plant produces something and solar panels do leach toxic waste into the groundwater. :( Whatever it takes to save the Earff from certain destruction.

I have a bro-in-law who is a mechanical engineer and gets called to work on solar farms from time to time. He said they don some kind of protective suits as the heat coming off of the arrays will toast your baguettes. Don't solar array heat islands putting out 140 degrees kind of exasperate the global warming they are intended to solve? Like flying a private jet to an anti-fossil fuel confab.

We already have 2 battery plants under construction here in GA. And i don't know how many thousands of acres of solar farms, but no windmills.

Just typing, saying or thinking the word "Joe" makes me lose a 10 grand from my 401k and gas to jump up a buck per gallon. What a bunch of feeble-minded retards we have "running the country." I'm trying to keep myself educated on politics as best I can, but lately the mere mention of the term 'politics' makes me wanna fist fight anyone in a Prius with a Biden bumper sticker. Who's our best bet for 2024 fellas?

Neither is good but solar panels are quiet and don’t get a parade of semis arriving every few hours. They widened my road and replaced the bridge over the river last year, and now I know why. Gonna be a lot more traffic.

Sorry to hear that. The solar farms don’t make a ton of sense to me, because Michigan is not a sunny state.

Probably the pan handler down on the corner could do a better job than all those booger eating morons on both sides of the aisle.

Panasonic is building a giant battery plant 6 miles east of where I live now. Need to talk the wife into moving further west

If your gonna stay I'd recommend putting in a small rifle range and a trap for pasture clays. Use it a bit on a weekly or by weekly basis. It establishes shooting on your property prior to your new neighbors showing up. Post it Hunting, target shooting and fishing with written permission only. You'll thank me later down the road.
