To help me with my Science Fair post, exactly what are all of the puddle ducks and what are all of the diving ducks. Like in two seperate categories. Thanks a lot!!!!

holy cripe...are you going to narrow that down at all? there are literally hundereds of species of ducks that fit into each category.

are you limiting them to:

north america
eastern USA
western USA
are you including canada

???

i can get you pointed in the right direction for different species of ducks, but i need to know a bit more what you are looking for.

You may find them listed at the DU website. As mentioned, are you looking for only North America or all of the world?

the following are some links to sites that offer good research material. remember, footnote your information so you don't get accused of plagerism!! :salude:

this one lists the North American Ducks by category. Puddlers(dabblers) - Divers - Sea Ducks - etc. it also gives you some good information on breeding and population trends.

This one is a pretty basic site, but will give you a few good specifics on each bird species. i think it is the same info that shrpshtr posted, just a different way to get it.

Thanks guys,
I thought that might be the case that there are too many. To help narrow it down we will say, Eastern US and Mississippi Flyway. Since I live near it. (I wish I was closer!!!!) Thanks so far.
