Say, you guys ever see your dog having a dream? My older Chessie Duke, he's about 13 now. But as long as I can remember he would bark and run in his sleep! its the funniest thing to watch! While he's on his side, his legs just starta kickin like crazy and in stead of a bark its more like a "woof" with a flutter of the lips at the end! I'm sure its normal but I cought him doing it yesturday and couldn't help try and think what he was dreaming about. Better days afield when he was a young pup I supose.......*sniffle*..........

I wonder the same thing. I can't help but think she's dreaming of chasing ducks. But it could be the dog across the street that comes into our yard and pisses right in front of her, just on the other side of the fence.

I should leave the gate open one evening and see what happens.

Little dog not so tough now.....

mine has done this since the first night i brought him home. he wimpers a lot just like when he is tired of waiting for me to send him on a retrieve in the field. every once-in-a-while he'll do the bark or growl thing in his sleep. it is very comical...

I think my pup dreams about being trapped somewhere. He does not like being cornered (especially by the vacuum). Like one time at 3:00 in the morning he was laying sideways (half under the bed) and had rolled over on his front. When he tried to get up his back legs would push his back up against the bed--he had no room to move. He started whimpering and crying and making noise. When I went to see what the hell was going on I look at him and he was asleep. I went to get him to go to his kennel and thats when I realized he was stuck. Too funny, he must have been so scared (5 1/2 month old).

ACE has done this since i brought him home at 6 wks. At first i thought they were like seizure something. But the vet said as long as you can say his name or grab his leg and he stops, then he is just dreaming.
