so you dont live in a place with a high relative humidity? i know youre supposed to store high end acoustic guitars in a humidified environment. but what about duck calls????

i have an old faulk's duck call that doesnt seem to have dried out, and my pops has quite a few even older wooden calls (faulk's, yentzen sure shot) that seem fine after being in New Mexico for almost 20 years now. he's got an Faulk's bamboo single reed. takes some practice, but its sweeeeet. i totally didnt answer your question.

This is what I have always been told to do:

For a wood call you will need to clean it with soap and water and let it dry.
Once it dries coat the wood inside and out with linseed oil.
Then allow it to dry before assembling the call.

Then you should be ready to go.
