Hey Ya'll

My name is Sam Duininck and I am from Oklahoma. Grew up hunting ducks there and also in Virginia where I went to school. About a year and half ago I moved to Rapid City, SD and absolutely love it as I have access to some family owned big game areas which is awesome. The only thing missing is waterfowl. Duck hunting is what I love and what I want to do but havn't found much. Although I have not been looking super hard as I have been super busy with getting married, work, and buying a house but looking to find a good group of guys to wack some ducks with in the years to come. I love God, Love my wife, and Love hunting Ducks! Anyone know of good places to hunt or would love to add a another truck full of gear hit me up. I am on FB and my cell is 918-633-2942.

Look forward to hearing from some people and making some life long friends!

Hey Sam. Welcome to SD and DHC. I'm born and raised in Sioux Falls but rarely make it out to the hills. Have no idea what waterfowling west river is all about. I'd definitely recommend attending DU and Delta banquets in your area. I'd also look for duck stickers on trucks at your local church. The priest at my church is from mobridge at takes vacation time to go home to hunt pheasants and ducks. East river especially the NE corner is our traditional waterfowl areas. The MO river holds nearly a million ducks and geese over the winter and you can hunt ducks into Jan and geese into Feb. GFP actually rents blinds and decoys in the Pierre area and there's a lot of public pits and fields so you don't need a boat. Also the August early Goose take was only open in the Rapid City area last year. Grab a free public atlas, google map, and burn some gas. Best of luck to you.
