Spiral, just noticed nobody responded to your post. I'm new to the forum or would have directed you to the taxidermy competition sponsored by the Utah Taxidermists Association at BYU a couple months ago. There is one every Spring and next year I'll get you a heads up. Utah is blessed with an abundance of excellent bird tax's in every part of the state. So don't just drop it off at the nearest yocal. Check out their work and compare prices. Expect to pay from $150 and up, a mallard or pin should be the same and very close to $200.00. The best mounts come from birds killed after December but your taxidermist should be able to mount anything-even your kids first duck which maybe got killed the week before all the other hunters got to try. It wont look as good because of the pinfeathers but is worth preserving well. Don't be afraid of blood and broken bones, the good ones can fix them good as new!
