i have around 5-6 doz E. Allens, mostly broadies but some cans and buffs too, some i bought finished, some not, the only thing you do is attach the head and keel, i recommend gluing the keel, but also using a 3" sheetrock screw on each end also, on the heads i usually drill a hole in the neck and the head and slip in a dowell for added strength, they are pretty durable , but i have broke off a few bills now and then, so is better to have decoy bags with the individual pockets if you can. all in all though i dont think there is a better riding decoy for big water, just my 2 scant

I've seen a few of them and they are really a good looking bird. My brother bought one for his little boy to practice painting on. They are nice decoys.

I didn't see your location but if you are close to Ohio there is a decoy show in Westlake this weekend at the Holiday Inn. The guy that owns the company will be there with a big display of all the decoys (species) they produce.

EAllens are 16lb 2-part urethane foam.......the shell is a primer molded into the foam........they are very nice and probably provide the highest durability of ANY foam decoy constructed.......hollowed out suc-duk style.....you only need to add a keel.....very realistic poses and many of them.......kinduv expensive but if you can afford to make a spread of these, you will not be dissapointed.....if you get them painted they are very well proffesionally done.

I've hunted over these things for a long, long time now. They hold up great. They are a little heavy, but if you hunt from a boat they are the cats meow. Somebody else downhere likes em a lot too, stole 12 dozen out of the back of my truck several years ago. If I ever find who has em they may be checking the inside of crab traps for em. Lost a lot of sleep over that. E.Allen dekes are top notch. I highly recommend them.

Yeah , I was really hacked. Fortunately I had plenty more to pull out, but lost some damn fine dekes and really great decoy bags. I keep hoping one day I find just one of em, they all have a special mark on em that will help me prove they are mine.
