What is everyones favorite decoy anchor set-up? I was looking into the Greenhead Gear anchors which look like a "J" and have the "strechy" chord before the anchor line. Anyone have experience with these or should I stick with the plain ole straight anchor straps?

I'm with JJ, I use the Ace anchor system, liked it so much I made my own mold and make my own. I buy the latex stretchy cords for less than a buck each from Cebalas. Like JJ said it makes life soooo much easier. Never a tangle and saves the paint. Personally I would buy Ace, ghg just coppied Ace and I don't like copy cats. Besides ghg rubbers are not as good as Ace.

I have looked at the Ace anchors... do they come with a stretch line attached to them? the pictures look like they are attached.

also does it matter what size I buy? the anchors that I have always used were either 5 or 6 oz. The ace anchors come in 4 and 8 oz. does it matter?

Ace decoy weights are by far the best weights i have used on any of my decoys, now there good to use for GHG and G&H and a few other brands but dont get them if you plan to put them on Herters or anyother keel less decoys, and yes the elastic type straps are attached to the weights when you buy them.

Theyre really not that bad. Six ounce mushrooms are 12.99
Four ounce ace are 14.99
Eight ounce mushrooms 14.99
Eight ounce ace 21.99
I have had more than one batch of lead mushroom anchors break, and for the ease of use the ace anchors are worth the extra 2-7 dollars.

I use Cabelas loop decoy anchers. I put roughly 20 yards of line per weight and wrap the line length wise around the weight. When the decoy is placed into the water the weight automatically unrolls to the correct depth. Or, I can tie of the weight if I already know how deep the water is. When storing the decoys and weights they do not get tangled up in the bag. They work really good for me.

I hunt a river that is very deep. Most of our decoys have close to 20 yards of line per decoy to help with the flucuation of the river. With that in mind would I need to do anything different to rig up my decoys.
i have mine texas rigged with about 8ft.....there definetly not as easy to handle as a decoy that has only 4ft, but they still work really well......i'd be interested in hearing how well 20ft of line would work.
