A very nicely hand carved Snipe Shorebird Decoy very old believe to be from the 19th Century with Initials T.S. carved on the bottom. As you can see the metal Rod got very rusty over the years and is missing the Wood Stand if it had one but the Decoy is in Near Mint Condition with no damage except a few real minor paint flakes and expected granulation of the old paint due to the aging of the old Varnish. Has a rather short Beak for a Snipe but looks to be the original size and is inserted into the Head. Measures 10 inches long from beak to tail. I bought this Snipe Decoy at an Antiques Shop in Washington State. Any idea as to the Maker T.S.? Any Information would be Highly Appreciated! Thank You! Gary K
