i was wondering if you could use one of these to find ducks...i know a lot of places i hunt, we shoot ducks and they fall in some grass and brush and they can be hard to find.. sometimes you walk right past them and dont even see them..i just wanted to know if a game finder would pick up a duck

Yeah I've got one and works great. Finds every bird regardless of cover.

His name is Remi and he is one charged dawg.

It's almost disturbing to know your losing birds because your not hunting with a dog. Watching a good dog work and the enthusiasm in his eyes when retrieving is just as enjoyable as knocking down the bird.

Are you talking about one of those lights that Gerber or Primos makes? That wouldn't work too good because ducks don't really have as much blood as deer or a big game animal would. Plus if the duck goes in the water, the blood will dilute and not be picked up by the light at all. It might work, but I honestly don't see it happening.

and as for a dog i wish i could have one but im not home enough to take care of one and there are people with dog allergies in my house

im almost always real close to the ducks just that the brush is thick and if they're crippled they get down in the brush and are hard to find

It is unfortunate that everyone can't have a trained retriever, but that is reality. I have wondered about the Game Finder deal too. Also about shot finder for the meat. I made duck and goose enchiladas for a game feed once. I doubt I was the only one to bite into some steel shot. Whoops. I thought I found it all before cooking.

well i just won one on ebay so ill give it a shot this year ...only cost me like 40$ so its not like its gonna be a big waste if it doesnt work

I dont know how good it will work but i do know that I followed a freaking blood trail on the ice last year all around a freaking frozen rice field...it was really awesome to track a duck but that little bastard took me all over the place, breaking ice in knee deep mud, before i found him...but he is one of the greenheads in my avaitar...
