Ther's an ad in the paper for a 14'game tracker sold by Sears. The seller said he bought it new in 1996. I'd like to find out what it looks like without driving to see it. Anybody familiar with it or have suggestions? Web searches have been unproductive.
Thanks

Sears Gamefisher - I've got one back home in the yard. If it's the same as mine, it's a tri-hull and floats really shallow. Been using it for floundering for years, and it's built like a tank. In other words, you wouldn't be pulling it over dikes any time soon.

Sears Gamefisher boats came in a variety of configurations.Tri hull,V-hull and flat bottom. Also they were made in fiberglass and aluminium.
Contact Sears and ask about them. They should be able to direct your inquiry

My grandfather had a gamefisher alum. boat 12 or 14 ft. It was a decent boat. It was a row boat style vee. We used it for years when I was a kid w/ no problems. Just stay away from gamefisher motors........they are all junk.

Gamefisher outboard motors were made by Mercury beginning in the mid 1990's. They were literally identical to Mercury's "Force" outboard line, with the only differences being decals. The Gamefisher brand was discontinued when Mercury did away with the Force brand in 1999. They were/are very good motors. A very good friend of mine bought a mid '90's Gamefisher 15 hp last summer, for on his 14' jon boat, and he loves it.

The gamefisher motor he had was older than that, mid eighties, and I can honestly say that I will never buy another merc again either. The gamefisher motors that we had sucked. And all the mercs we've had have have been finicky. Especially in colder weather. The gamefisher being made by Mercury explaines alot though.

Interesting. I have an '06 Mercury 15 hp 4-stroke, and really like it so far. But I've only had it a week, so it a little premature to make a definite judgement yet. My father and I had a '97 Mercury 115 hp on our 18' Nitro bass boat, and it was a great motor. I guess its all a matter of what you get used to, and what you're around. My family and friends have always had good luck with Mercs.
