haha my girlfriend cant stand to watch the hunting videos but she likes the outdoors. I took her out once just to see what it was like and she ended up sleeping in the blind and not liking it. And really think about it, do you really want your girlfriend to like hunting? personally i enjoy it better with friends. less bitching about being cold and stuff like that.

I think the best way is to just take her out there and let her experience it for herself. It will go one of two ways. Either she will like it and you will have another hunting partner, or she will hate it and say hun its all for you! I just asked mine to see what her reaction would be and quite surprisingly she said she would love to go with me. Luckily it does not get real cold her during the waterfowl season so I dont have much to worry about her gettin cold.

Try to make it sound as fun as possible. and when she does go try to be as PATIENT as possible and to make her comfortable. get her out shooting skeet and having fun that way shes ready for next fall. if your patient and make her comfy the first time im sure you will have always have another hunting parnter for next season...thats what i did this past year with my g/f and now shes wanting her own gun for next year!

I need help to keep my girlfriend from bugging me about it.. Gear is expensive for Two people.

Nah its quite fun

and when she does go try to be as PATIENT as possible and to make her comfortable
that's the key, be patient....but a FYI its hard... Treat her like you would a 5 year old out there. don't do anything shes not comfortable with, and make her think shes valuable.

My gf has took it up this last season. I had taken her out shooting and she shot a lot better than me and my friends. After buying me a bunch of calls for holidays she was ready. I for warned her about the weather and such. I told her that i was not going to pamper her or anything special, if she wanted to hunt i was going to treat her like anyone else out there. Not to be mean but i think it does not help to pamper them the first time because they dont know what the "true" hunt is. I believe if it is rough the first day and she comes back that it will be good for ever. Well the first days hunt we set her up and told her that she gets first crack as any first time hunter would get in my party. Forst flock of the day she dropped a double banded mallard drake. Me and my buddy were very happy for her and we had to change our underwear after seeing that it was double banded. She played it off not knowing the significance.

We put the bands on her lanyard that she carries with a pink buck brush and a pink mick lacy mallard magic. She doesnt know how to call y et but she likes to carry them just to show off the bands.

Get your girl out there as soon as you can, you wont regret it.

Post some pics of your girl and Ill let you know if it is going to be worth it in the long run. Ha just kidding just take her out and see if she is going to like it. Then when you buy her gear always get it to big that way when she leaves you you'll have more stuff.

I dont know if I would want my girl out there with me...half the fun of duck hunting is screwing around with your buddies and getting away from it all for a while you know?

The wife says that she wants to go out with me one day, had a few stupulations (stupid stipulations). She wanted to wear pink waders and I couldn't shoot the ducks because she wanted to photograph them. I said, fine, I will shoot them after you take a picture and she says no. She is a tree hugging bunny kisser so needless to say, she won't see the inside of my duck blind. Main reason is because I don't know where to find pink waders at. Might be nice to have a warm wife in a cold blind at around 5:30 in the morning. Might be worth not killing a few birds

Don't do it, it takes all the "hunting" out of hunting when your girlfriend is there. Imagine you and your buddies and your girlfriend in a blind, you and your buddies start talking about the hot little cashier at the store, or any such off color things that are often discussed in the blind. I took one of my girlfriends in high school hunting one time. I didn't even fire my gun or see any ducks, I did end up with torn waders, and a very corrupted lab, who just seemed to stare off into space with an empty blank look on his face from that day on. Do you really want a chick that hunts? I don't, I want my wife to not bother me at all when I'm hunting. Leave her home.
