Pawlenty is the Marshal and Johnson is public enemy #1 in MN!
"How did the DFL, the party that traditionally has led the way in this state regarding conservation and the environment (e.g., Sen. Hubert Humphrey and the Wilderness Act of 1964; Gov. Wendell Anderson and the Reserve Mining slugfest) so obviously, and convincingly, cede its front-running position to the Republicans?"
I have said that myself more than afew times in the last few years. 30 years ago the DFL was the champion of environmental/conservation measures. Now they are the blockade of such measures for the last 10 years in MN, especially the last 5 years. What gives
Some say I support the Republicans too much, and you wonder why? The Rep are the stewards of the envirnment now. FYI, 15 to 25 years ago I voted equally between both parties, I voted for those that were envirnoment/conservation minded. Increasingly, I have found very few of the DFL title to vote for--namely because of this issue.
I am very disgusted with Sen Johnson who is the DFL sen Maj. leader. Considering he is a "pastor" and so entrenched in his anti conservation views, I have sometimes have wondered, has a conservation/environment anti-christ taken a hold of him?
Alls I can say is this---unless the DFL does accept the LCMR reform and Heritage funding, I highly suspect alot of the DFLs legislators will be unemployed 1.5 years from now. As we sportsmen will be telling ALL the voters of how the DFL blocked these initiatives. Make no mistake about it, the sportsmen/women of MN hold the sword of who gets elected or ousted. We are a bigger force to recon with than the health care and education is combined. And we are increasingly getting fed up with the DFLs roadblocks from its leadership. IMO it is time for new leadership in the Senate.
What do you all think?
