What barrel length does everyone prefer on your duck gun, 26 or 28?

26 just seems annoying in blinds with multiple people.

I hunt with 24" to 28". I shoot better with my 28" barrel, but enjoy hunting with the 24" more. I've got two guns with 26" barrels, neither is one I can hunt with too much. I'm getting ready to by another 26" gun that I'm hoping becomes my primary duck hunting gun.

It's all feel and fit. I think the shot reaches 90+% of its maximum velocity in the first 22 inches. Each inch beyond that adds an incremental amount. One of the gun gurus will be able to give a definative answer on that. Feel and fit, try them both.

I like a 28 incher. That's what I started on so that's what I feel most comfortable with. I really wish that more manufacturers would offer 30" barrels.

I am with ya on that one yeller. I have this old singleshot 12gauge winchester cooey model. It has a 32 inch barrel and I love that gun.

Mine is a 29 1/2" I like it, but it wouldnt bother me to shoot a smaller barrel either.

Hmm, i bet a 30 incher would be nice. for now, i'll stick to my 28" though. i dont really like haveing shorter barrels, but i think its best to go with what fits you best.

I use from 24-28". Probaly like 26" the best in a pump or auto. In a over and under I like at least a 28" although a 26" points a little quicker.
