May the seas rise up to meet you and the wind be always at your back. Diego's a rock. In the middle of the ocean. Covered with gull poop. It may have changed but that's what it was almost 30 years ago.

My good Navy buddy is the Security Officer on Diego. I have contact with him from time to time. What kind of questions do you have? I'd be willing to contact him for you

Not too bad of a place, Hope you like fishing  I have visited 3 times and my brother in law did a 1 year tour with the SeaBees about 10 years ago. No waterfowl but there are alot of chickens running around. Keep yourself busy with some college courses and save some money.

I could think of worse places to be stationed.

Good Luck.

Thanks for the info guys. Diego was my first choice aside from trying to extend here at Nas jax. I absolutely love to saltwater fish so i think i will be in heaven for a year More inshore but i do know quite a bit about offshore as well. I chose Jax over keywest this past time i was up for orders so atleast im still getting to a "tropical" atmosphere just for a little while this go round with orders...

quack: No particular questions for anyone just wondering if anyone had been there and how their expierience was. I hear its a great place to go if you love to fish so thats why that was my first choice. I think can do without ducks for atleast one year...aahhhh sacrafices lol!

don't step on the crabs. don't have any high hopes of meeting a woman there. if you are going to swim, stick to the lagoons and not the deeper side of the island, unless you feel like being shark bait.

good luck!

Well when you get there your gonna be wishing you didnt take them orders

You like fishing ,well I did too until I hit the rock. If that big old hammerhead "herbi" is still there dont hurt him , he gives board people a lot of fun . We would always let him go, I have a picture of him somewhere around here.

Oh yea ,theres a girl behind every tree.
