I've killed more ducks this season than i ever have, but this is the first year that i have really gotten into duck hunting. The weather has kinda screwed things up. Regardless, i am happy with the way the season is going. So far I have killed 27 ducks and 1 specklebelly.
Its been ok here. i've probably killed 25 ducks. but my cousin goes at least twice a week and has killed close to 250 ducks alone. we have a secret honey hole that gets overlooked by most people. no one really knows about it. its pretty tough hunting but the birds are always there. mostly all mallards and pintails. the best hunting place i've even been. not unusual to see at least 125 birds in one day in YOUR FACE. but as far as local birds where i live there aint nothing. we drive two hours and hunt in the morning to kill birds. so happy hunting!!! :toofunny:
This season hasn't been much to write home about. The guys that I know that are really on the birds have boats and have been putting a LOT of miles on their trucks and boats to find them. Here today, gone tomorrow. Our lease looked promising when scouting it last year at the end of the season. This year it stunk. I haven't kept track but I'm probably somewhere in the 40 to 50 category. But considering the number of times I've gone that isn't a good average. Not seeing birds where I normally would. TOO WARM UP NORTH.
