If you're going to use quier magnets it needs to be dead calm for them to really be noticeable, and the O-ring seals don't last long if you don't put a litle oil or something on them. I think there are better options, but it's hard to beat their price. It's also something that gives birds just a little more confidence when circling (assuming you're well concealed), and isn't going to pull them from a distance. just my 2 cents.

They ain't bad at all. Rigem Right has an awesome setup with a folding anchor that fits in a big pocket. I also use the spreaders and they are easy too. The spreaders can be used by themselves too with a single larger anchor and the decoys stay attached ta the spreader. All ya do is drop the 4 decoys on the spreader in the water and they sit separated and you will never have a tangled decoy.

Spreader?

The jerk kits aren't any worse than any other gizmo we use for waterfowling. You can make them difficult if you want to, but it's just a string with a few decoy clips basically. I don't leave the decoys attached when I store it.

As for diver decoys...the buffys are great for GHG- actually, havent found any better. I have some super mag G&H bluebills that I LOVE but they are now $135 for 6...guess I will never be able to buy them again. I love my foamers for my line rigs. Only problem is the bodies will hold up to being shot, but the heads do not. The pellet going in is a small hole, but it is like a hollow point going out- it will blow the whole backside out. I want to make a mold so I can make replacement heads out of expandable foam so they are solid. I made 10 cork redheads three years ago, and they are the greatest. The most durable and unsinkable, just need a little paint touchup now after 2 seasons. The cans and redheads cant resist. Only shot one can before I had them, and shot 23 over the past two seasons. Good results. I think birds like the homemade as they may be a little different than the factory spreads they see all day, everyday.

Now I am a garage sale guy...I have been buying old foamers and burlapping and repainting. Something to do while we (my wife, not me) watches reality tv at night... Got lucky and found 6 at a sale this summer for $10. Now they look great! I will try to post some pics as soon as I can.

Check out some of the other forums...they have great instructions on how to make you cheap decoys look great for any type of bird. Some people are AMAZING at what they do!

thats pretty sweet, killing ducks that are coming in to decoys you made is awesome. i have some ghg goldeneys, canvasbacks, bluebills and ringers. i like them and 135$ for 6 g&h bills id just stupid. are they flocked or something?

Trust me...I didn't pay that much for them. I have had them for 13 years now. At the time, they were $70 per 6. I was working at Gander at the time in St Cloud and it was after the season. They had a lot of overstock and asked if I would like to buy some. I asked how much and the store manager said $35 per 6, so I took 18. Wish I would have taken all 4 dozen of them!

I think they are expensive because they are 22" long. They really are enourmous and work well. They are a little thicker plastic as well, so the pellets don't penetrate them as well as other decoys. Movable heads are also a great benefit...
