Hey guys I'm just curious about how the duck and goose numbers are lookin. Anyone been on the Bighorn at all? I hear their is finally some water around, which should help alot. Let me know if you do any scouting.

Officially the numbers are all up except Greenheads. While up from last year, they are still down from thier 10 year average. Haven't seen much this year around Missoula. But haven't started my pre-season scouting yet, probably this weekend.

Not sure about the Big Horn yet, I have a buddy that guides over there so I will probably here before long. There are lots of birds showing up around on the Mo, Madison, and Jefferson though. I was at Canyon Ferry 2 weeks ago and saw thousands of birds (I couldn't sleep for Days :mrgreen: ) but I hear that they are starting to thin out and move to the rivers a bit. I have been doing scouting every weekend for the past month or so and I am seeing more ducks every day, but still not alot of geese.

I hope that the opener is good....I'm already in trouble for hunting that weekend. The wife's grandparents are comming from Denver, and it's her Mom's birthday......nobody can watch the dog for us, so needless to say, I will not be going to Great Falls for the big bash. Hmmm..... I wonder if I'll be invited for X-Mas this year?
